FAQ Tattoo

That depends on the size, complexity, location on the body and is therefore individual for everyone. The more details you give me before I start to design, the sooner I can make an approximate price range. It’s a standard to make a deposit of 50 € -100 € before, for the time working on the design. The remaining cost will be charged on the actual tattoo appointment.
It depends. If it hasnít been tattooed before it’s fine. Just drop me a line and Iíll tell you if itís been done before. Reason: there is nothing worse than the feeling of having something unique on your skin only to find out it has a twin. The price: a photo of the tattoo!
Yes absolutely – they are a must! Your tattoo should be designed especially for you whenever possible. Thatís what the deposit of 50-250€ is partly for.
Yes if I need one for your tattoo and itís not a freehand design. There is the possibility of paying a deposit of 250€ instead of the usual 50€ and I will email you a scan of the drawn template 1-2 days before your appointment. In the event you choose to back-out of getting the tattoo, the deposit is my payment for the design. If you go through with getting it, the 250€ will be offset against the final price of your tattoo.
It ís easy. If you want a tattoo, fill in the contact form and describe what you want to get as best as you can. I do this via email so that I have all the information in one place when I get to creating the design. Itís no problem, if you are unsure or are still looking for inspiration. Sometimes it makes sense to schedule a consultation (1 hour), where I will most likely paint something on your skin (so itís best to schedule the appointment so that itís no problem for the paint to still show for 1-2 days after and wear dark clothes) or we look for ideas together. The consultation and the tattoo appointment itself shouldnít be too far apart, so that the memory is still fresh. Thatís why we will schedule both appointments beforehand.
When the appointments are made, you will have to make a deposit of 50€, that will be offset against the final price of the tattoo. You will find more information in the terms and conditions or the FAQs.
On the day you come over on time or 5 minutes late and I will either do the stencil or paint something on your skin, depending on whether I work freehand or not. If the charge is per hour, this is the point where the time starts. I will set up the tattoo station and weíre ready to go!
At the end I will give you care instructions and if applicable, I will take a photo and bandage the tattoo with cling film. Done!
With love, patience and a few tools:
– Tattoomed after Tattoo or similar tattoo ointment (I really like this one myself)
– pH-neutral showering gel without alcohol and perfume
– Cling film
– Band aids to hold the cling film in place
Here is the short version:
Rinse your tattoo with hot water (but please donít burn yourself!).
Dab dry (with a paper towel), put cream on it (approx. 5 times a day). In the first 1-3 nights cover with cling film, wash it in the morning and put cream on it. Keep your tattoo dry and clean, wear loose clothing.
DONTíS: Do not sweat, donít do sports, donít soak, no baths or swimming, never go into the sun again (just kidding, but seriously: no sun for 8 weeks!). Always protect your tattoo for example with sun blocker. No matter how much it itches: DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK AT THE SCABS! Keep your hands off it, no, no, no! Put on a straight jacket if you have to. Use cream instead.
Unfortunately no. You will pay directly after the appointment in cash.
My tattooing hours are Tuesday-Friday and usually start at 10/11 am in summer, and 11/12 am in winter.
Please note that appointments will be offered to several people and must be confirmed (first served basis).
For touch-ups an hour is usually sufficient, but sometimes can take longer, so I ask that you prepare yourself to wait in the case that this happens. Please don’t feel uneasy if the appointment doesnít begin immediately, itís better to come 5 minutes late than 10 minutes early ;), Iím not really German like that.
I ask that you give me five days notice, and then your deposit can be transferred to the next appointment. If you withdraw later than this, unfortunately you will have to make a new deposit for the new date, as I wonít be able to find a replacement for the loss of working hours on such short notice. Exception: a medical certificate stating that you are sick or pregnant.
You need an appointment for a touchup if colour has broken off, the colour has become too light for your liking or if the lines are not straight anymore. From your appointment onwards you have 8 weeks to get in touch and schedule a touch up appointment (which has to be after the above mentioned 8 weeks). If you get in touch a lot later than that (letís say 5 months), a touch up will cost from 50 € up, depending on how much needs to be done. Usually a touchup will be more extensive the later it happens, because more work needs to be done so that you canít tell the fresh tattoo from the existing art work.
I only work with certified colors and sterile disposable needles. I incorporate all the current standards of hygiene in my workflow, but it is important that you protect and care for the tattoo during the healing phase. It is a wound that could get infected otherwise. Medical treatments may not be covered by health insurance.
Additional risks that a tattoo artist can never rule out previously are allergic reactions and possible ink blow-outs due to characteristics of the connective tissue, as well as skin structures that have difficulty being coloured or canít be coloured at all.
It is possible that your circulation drops during the tattooing process, so bring something sugary to drink and something to eat for these kind of cases and for the breaks.
If you are sick and donít know it or it is dormant (for example a cold that hasnít fully broken out yet, neurodermatitis) it is possible that the illness breaks out because of the physical stress. If you have a chronic disease, please consult your doctor and ask if there is any reason why you shouldnít get a tattoo. You should not be taking any immune-weakening (cortisone) or blood-thinning (aspirin) medication. If you suffer from hayfever, please take a look at the ingredients of the ointment you buy. If you suffer from episodes (asthma, epilepsy), please let me know in advance and tell me what I need to do in case of an episode.
You will fill in a consent form. Please be honest, no one but me will read it and itís only fair that I know if there is a higher risk.

FAQ Art

Yes absolutely! Just email me. I’m also interested in all kinds of other projects. For example I would enjoy illustrating a children’s book again.
Yes. If the item is for sale, the majority will have a price already attached. Some works I hold too close to my heart, and it would be like giving my personal diary away. Simply email me with the picture title, and who knows, the timing might be right. Some designs may be paired with another artwork, which may offer the opportunity to give both a new home if you wish.
Hey, anything you want baby! Not all artwork is available, but I collaborate with Sign.Manufaktur and can order individual prints on various surfaces and sizes. The company incorporates fair trading practices (for example fair trade T-shirts), and if you want to know more, feel free to ask them directly.
All sizes include taxes and include delivery with DHL, Hermes or Post.

A1 27€
A2 23€
A3 18€
A4 12€
A5 7€
A6 4,50€

Other formats and materials are available upon request. Prices vary on trade shows.

There is a lot of preparation involved when creating an individual artwork. During the preparation phase you might want to withdraw from the contract, which is fine, however I need to cover the costs of my time and resources. This is why a deposit is necessary.
Please pay the deposit in advance and make sure the remaining prive is being paid until 2 weeks after I finished the artwork. This should be enough time to send the image and for you to have a look at it and hopefully fall in love with it.
No problem, I do two reworks for free. It is best if you collect all your feedback and send it to me in one email, so I can implement all your changes in one go. The more detailed the information, the better I can fulfill your wishes.
